Improve Tooth Function and Appearance with Strong Restorations
When a filling just won’t do
Dental crowns and caps are terms that can be used interchangeably. If dental issues like decay, cracked fillings, root canals, teeth clenching, or grinding have caused significant damage to a tooth, a dental filling may not be sufficient for restoration. In order to fully restore the appearance and function of the tooth, a dental crown is often necessary. The good news is that once completed, a dental crown looks and feels like a natural tooth.
In addition to restoring a single natural tooth, crowns can also serve other purposes. They can provide support for dental bridges, cover dental implants, or protect a cracked tooth from further damage. A crown can also be used to restore the natural appearance of a discolored or stained tooth. Crowns can be made from materials such as porcelain baked onto a metal substrate, all-porcelain, or various new ceramic materials that have been developed.
